Sean Taylor shows off some nice smallies!

Sean went out above Harrisburg and hammered some real nice smallies. He ventured out above Harrisburg. In 3 and a half hours he poured in 19 smallies with 5 around 18 or more. Check these pics out. He sent us 5 pics and all of them look like you cut them out of a cookie mold!

He said he got most on Hawg Slop Tubes in a variety of colors, ie..green pumpkin and mudpie purple. He also got some on jigs, both with and with out a trailer. He also said he caught some on hair jigs. He got nothing on jerkbaits or faster moving lures. Good Job Sean!

Holy Crappie!

Jill Dise caught this nice crappie up on the northern end of lake pinchot (Rossville) on a Green Pumpkin HawgHead "Hawg Slop" Tube. This baby tipped the scales at just over 2 lbs, and was 14 inches long! Now that is a goodrrr.

Crappie action Steady....Countdown to TROUT...March 31st.

Crappie action is staying rather steady, see the previous post and that is still the norm from what we are hearing. Fellow partner Rick, was out yesterday and caught around 15 crappie down by the dam. The largest was around 13 inches. He said, he had a big fish on but, it broke off, he had no idea what that was.

Trout opens in 2 days, we will be open late Friday for those who want to come by late...we are shooting to close our shop at 10 pm friday night. We will be opened back up at 6 am Saturday for those getting an early start Saturday.

Again we are fully stocked with Butter Worms, Wax Worms, Lg and Sm Crawlers, redworms, red mealies and gold meallies, fatheads, rosey reds, small shiners..etc. etc......

Catfish and Crappie Action.....

Well, folks, some fellow hillbillies have been smashin' the Catties in the Susquehanna by Goldsboro. It looks like they got one heck of an evening bite, from just before dark till about 11 pm at night. One fella, brought in a 30 incher today and he says the smallest he caught was about 24 inches. He is using 4 ounces of weight to keep it planted on the bottom.

Everyone has been asking about the Crappie action on Pinchot. Well, let me just say, the local hard core guys are getting into some down by the damn, fishing the drop offs. Use slip bobbers with fathead minnows and/or wax worms. Most of the time they are in about 40 foot of water with the bait going about 5-10 feet on the edge of the drop offs. Most off the fish appear to be in the 12 inch range.

Stripper action appears to have slowed with not many reports of them caught, but I don't think many are really targeting them either. I wouldn't give up on them yet, if you want to try for them. Keep chuckin' those jerkbaits.

Lake Pinchot Hybrid Stripper Action.....ON FIRE!

The shad have died of following the ice out and let me tell ya what folks.......there is a feeding frenzy going on! You probably only have a few days left to get in on the hot action. This is by far the best time of the year on Pinchot for stripper action.

Large Minnnows and jerkbaits, seem to do the trick pretty well. I will try to keep everyone updated as the days/hours go by with updated reports.....

Good Luck!

DEPS Basirisky in stock!

For those looking for a new hot lure, this is probably one of the most requested lures this year so far. We started stocking it during the sports expo season, and it went over pretty well.

The Basirisky Frog is the kind of bait you won't be able to put down once you've thrown it. The Basirisky is effective anywhere you would think of throwing a frog or rat, on the mats, in thick grass, scattered vegetation, and even open water. The unique crawling action caused by the forward facing ‘legs' gives Basirisky a sound, splash, and action that will make bass bust this bait just because it makes them mad. On mats the weight of the lure and the natural shape will attract strikes.

Basirisky is a hollow bodied frog with a big, single, ultra-sharp Owner Hook. The body material is very soft and compresses easily, exposing almost the full bite of the hook. The bait is vented to allow air to escape quickly, making compression more complete. Unlike some frog baits, the hook point will not stick into the plastic body and the body cannot slide down on the hook point, either of which will make you miss fish. The weight is molded on the hook so it will never fall out and is cemented into the body so the whole unit acts almost as a single piece. The forward facing legs will hook and move surface vegetation, attracting a lot more attention than a bait that just slides over the top. Put this unique bait to the test and see if you don't agree; this is a fish catcher!

Pinchot lake almost OPEN!

Hey y'all, it appears as though, the Lake is just about open. The upper flats area has some left, but most of the rest is cleared off. With this weeks warm weather, look for it to completely open up.

Fishing has been rough, just about everywhere from the reports we are getting. The warm water on the Susqy, has been spotty, but the river is still trying to get back to normal. With all the recent precipitation though, it could be a little while.

Product front...... A ton of folk have been asking about the Abu Garcia New STX REVO reels. We have a few of the 7 to 1 retrieves left and one of the slower speed left. If you have been looking for these, give us a shout, as most retailers are sold out.

Ice fishing ON FIRE!!!

Well folks, we apologize for the not so often posting, but we have been a tad busy putting the shop back together after the fishing expos. We still aren't done and it will be another week or so until we get it all set back up the way we want it to look.

We are currently in the process of revamping our website and adding/updating our product listings. Everything should be complete in the near future, so please bear with us.

Anyway, Ice Fishing has been really great on lake Pinchot. We are hearing up to 11 inches on the upper part of the lake, near the Rossville bridge. The Campground has produced those typical football sized pickerel. The bass fishing has been rather good also, with most all fish taken using large or medium shiners.

There has not been much crappie action lately and it appears as though, not many anglers are going after them. The action up lake in the campground area has been so productive that not many local folk have been seeking those crappie slabs.

The dam area is the place for y'all to go check out for crappie. A few anglers hit it down there today, however we did not receive any reports of any caught.

I wish y'all the best of luck and if you get those good fish, make sure you snap a pic, so we can show you and the fish off a tad.

Ice Fishing in FULL ICE EFFECT!

Hey everyone, reports are going pretty good right now. From what we are hearing, we are getting reports of up to 5 inches in the upper end of the lake, (opposite the damn). Anglers are reporting catching Largemouth, crappie and pickerel.

Some of the pickerel caught in years past have been impressive, and it appears as though this trend is continuing.

For the Largemouth Bass and Pickerel, use Large Shinners, they seem to be the go to bait of choice right now.

For the Crappie, stay with old reliable with the small shinners and fathead minnows.

Good Luck to everyone and remember that if you get that lunker......or any fish for that matter, swing by our tackle shop and drop a photo off, so we can show you off here in the fishing reports page or in our fish album!
