Crappie on Lake Pinchot, Tis the Season!

What is with this weather, you ask? Well, the weather has enabled local anglers the opportunity to hit the Lake (Pinchot) by boat rather than ice. It has afforded the hard core fisherman with outstanding results with several nice Crappie caught at the base of the lake just above the damn area.

The Crappie are stacked up and suspended with Small Shinners the prefered meal for these slabs. Although several anglers report that fathead work well to. Don't be afraid to try small Crappie Tubes and grubs.

The number one question we get asked is what depth are they holding at? Well, our honest answer is to get on the water and start at 5 feet down and work your way deeper. This way you won't go past them. Remember that these fish can fluctuate up and down sometimes, several times a day. Once you find them, obviously stay there.

The reports lately have been outstanding, so get out there quick to get a part of the action!

Warm Water River Fishing!

Warm Water river fishing has really been on fire lately. The discharges have really been yielding good fish. The Walleye action has really heated up, over the course of the last few weeks.

Not necessarily size, but the numbers have been real good. It has been not unusual for an angler to catch 20 or more, and some have reported catching up to 50! Medium size shinners have been popular, however, jerkbaits, and crankbaits have been snatch'n up some nice fish! Again, please use caution while fishing these areas. A few nice smallies have been caught also, on Jerkbaits and cranks. Most of these reports have come from the York Haven area.

In the peach bottom area, in the warm water, we have had several reports that anglers are simply slammin' Catfish, for those who want to go Cattie huntin. For those who don't know, Peach Bottom is a nuclear power plant in the Conowingo Reservoir. This is the last area before the Susquehanna River dumps into the Chesapeake Bay, via Port Deposit area.

Dec 3rd Fishin' Report

Hey folks, fishin has been tough on Lake Pinchot of late. Though there might not have been many anglers, lately the locals have had moderate success for crappie near the damn area.

Bass action has been spotty and difficult. A few fish have been caught, but none of citation size.

Most Notably the SUSQUEHANNA RIVER has been really on fire. Several angers are reporting good catches of Smallmouth bass in the Goldsboro area. Jerkbaits, slowly worked seem to be doin the trick.
